The Search Engine Tech Giant unveiled its most awaited Pixel 7 series in India last month. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro arrived with features like the next-generation Tensor chipset, speech recognition technology, and many improvements over the predecessors. However, that doesn’t mean they are immune to bugs and issues.

Since the Pixel 7 series launch, the respective users have complained about various issues their smartphones are going through. About the recent issue with the series, the users were facing an auto-rotate issue, and the modem was not working. Also, the Tap to Wake feature was not working in some selective smartphones, and the GPS accuracy was not performing well—the recent problem faced by consumers is Bluetooth connectivity issues.

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

Several consumers of the series reported that there is a persistent Bluetooth connectivity issue on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The problem persists even after the latest November 2022 security update. The issue is severe as the users cannot connect their devices to their smartphones. And if the device got paired accidentally, it kept disconnecting quickly. Also, some reported cases say that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro automatically forgets the paired devices after a Bluetooth restart.

If your Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro is paired to some device via Bluetooth, it will keep disconnecting again and again. Because of the issue, once the Bluetooth is turned off, the respective device will get deleted from your saved devices list. So you can enter it again to connect via your smartphone.

Since it has been approximately two months, you will be aware of the Bluetooth Connectivity issue. But we have got the users’ grievances stating the problem. A user from Reddit: “Any Pixel 7 owners having Bluetooth connection issues? My Pixel 3 and Pixel 6 connected to my Honda stereo just fine (no Android Auto, just Bluetooth audio). My Pixel 7 connects, drops, and reconnects to the car stereo constantly.”

One more user states about the slow connectivity of the Bluetooth, “Bluetooth headphones – very slow to connect to Pixel 7 Pro. I have Sony WH 1000XM3 Headphones. On the Pixel 7 Pro, the Bluetooth connectivity is very inconsistent. It would occasionally connect within a few seconds, but sometimes it takes between 5-10 seconds or maybe more for the Bluetooth icon to appear and then hear the headset say ‘Bluetooth connected.’”

The affected users have tried general troubleshooting methods like clearing the data of both smartphones and the respective devices, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. They have also tried restarting their device, but that doesn’t help.

Google rolled out December 2022 earlier to fix the Bluetooth connectivity issue so that you can try out that. Recently, the company released a January 2023 security update to fix Bluetooth connectivity issues for the Pixel 7 series. The update includes the following changelog:

  • Fix for issue occasionally preventing specific Bluetooth Low Energy devices or accessories from pairing or reconnecting
  • Fix for issue preventing audio from playing over certain headphones or accessories while connected in certain conditions.

After this, some users still face Bluetooth connectivity issues on their Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Even the latest January 2023 patch doesn’t seem to be working for some handful of users.

The users can keep trying the general workarounds, and troubleshooting means discussed above and let us know if that helps after trying the December 2022 and January 2023 security patches. We understand that the Bluetooth connectivity issue is very irritating, and we will let you know if any solution arrives. We will update the post according to the reports based on the consumers.
