The American chip-making giant Qualcomm has released the successor of SD 778G or SD 778G+, the Snapdragon 782G (Model number – SM7325-AF). Nothing is exciting with the newly unveiled chipset, but it is slightly different from SD 778G+ and comes with a few minor upgrades. The company has announced the chipset for mid-range phones to perform comparatively better. If you want to know about the new SD 782G chipset, then you are at the right place. This article will discuss the new chipset, features, specifications, and available phones. Read more to find out.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G Features

As per the data provided by Qualcomm, the SD 782G can give 5% better CPU performance. It is important to note that the results might be only for the highest-performing CPU core, and the other cores will probably run at lower speeds. The first core is Kryo 670 Prime core (Cortex A78) which runs up to 200MHz faster at 2.7GHz, 3 Kryo 670 Gold (Cortex A78) at up to 2.2GHz, and 4 Kryo 670 Silver (Cortex A55) at up to 1.9GHz.

The chipset offers the Adreno 642L, which is 10% more powerful with the chipset compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon 782G supports 8 Kryo cores, which are clocked up to 2.7 GHz. For reference, the cores of SD 778G+ are clocked up to 2.5 GHz, and the cores of SD 778G are clocked up to 2.4 GHz.

The chipset can also drive FHD+ screens at a 144 Hz fast refresh rate and 4k screens at a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. The new chip also supports 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage configuration. The 782G brings Quick Charge 4+, which can charge up to 50% in 15 minutes. It is based on a 6 nm architecture like the SD 778G+.

The support for optics is up to 200 MP single camera capture and 22 MP triple camera capture. The chip supports burst photography with an 8 MP camera of up to 120 fps. It also supports 240 Hz slow-motion video capture at 720P. Regarding the networks and speeds, the chipset supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth version 5.2. Also, it can drive 5G peak speeds up to 3.7 Gbps down or 1.6 Gbps up. The modem is the Snapdragon X53 (with Sub-6GHz and mmWave support), again the same as previous generations.

One emphasized part of the chipset done by the company is the camera part that “it is highly detailed to capture up to 200 MP”. However, the rest of the camera systems seem similar to those for the Snapdragon 778G or 778G+ chipsets.
