One UI 5.1.1: Major update for Samsung flagships?
We are moving towards their second Unpacked event for this year, reportedly in July. And that means a new major software upgrade, One UI 5.1.1, based on Android 13, for a handful of current high-end devices from Samsung. These usually include Galaxy Z, Galaxy S, and Galaxy Tab S series devices.
One UI 5.1.1 Features
One UI 5.1.1 introduces several exciting features that enhance user experience. The app previews on the Recent Apps screen have been improved. Users can now switch directly from a pop-up screen to split-screen mode. The pop-up feature can be moved to the side and easily relit, allowing for effortless multitasking and quick access to frequently used apps.
Users can now check minimized apps with the S Pen, enabling efficient navigation and management. The taskbar displays more recent apps, providing quick access to frequently used applications. The taskbar area adjusts dynamically based on the number of icons.
Flex Mode Panel now supports more apps. Media control has been made easier, allowing for effortless audio and video playback management. Users can now customize the Toolbar, tailoring it to their specific needs.
You can share content with contacts, even those far away, and Important content can be shared with enhanced security measures. Sleep coaching content and design have been improved, making Sleep data more meaningful.
A notable addition is the skin temperature measurement during sleep. Key workout metrics are now displayed simultaneously, making tracking their progress easier for fitness enthusiasts.
Flex Mode in Pro Mode has received a sleek design update. Selecting multiple photos at once in the capture view has become more convenient. Remaster preview has been optimized for greater ease of use.
With the ability to drag and drop using both hands, users can now navigate easily. Another useful feature is wireless battery sharing, enabling users to use their phones while charging other devices wirelessly.
One UI 5.1.1 also brings efficient storage management and improves Device Care’s memory management feature. Lastly, users can customize the Samsung Internet screen layout according to their taste.
One UI 5.1.1 Supported Galaxy Devices List
The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Tab S9 Series and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have One UI 5.1.1 installed out of the box. Samsung may roll out the One UI 5.1.1 update to several devices. The list will likely include the following devices (Expected):

Samsung will launch the firmware along with their new foldables, and it will soon be rolled out to other eligible devices. And going by their previous track record, we can expect One UI 5.1.1 may not be available for the Galaxy Z Fold, the Galaxy Tab S6, and the Tab Active 3.
However, this is just our speculation and should not be confused with solid confirmation by Samsung.
