Oppo Find N2 Foldable Phone: Everything We Know So Far
Last year, Oppo took a very different approach to a Foldable phone, and the Oppo Find N2, the successor to that, is right around the corner. Instead of making a phone that was tablet-sized when expanded but had a really narrow and awkwardly tall cover screen, Oppo decided to make a phone that had a smaller screen size when expanded (7.1″ diagonal, 120Hz LTPO), with a good, usable outer screen, which isn’t as tall as the outer screens that foldable phones from Samsung have, with a firm and satisfying hinge mechanism.
They made a compact foldable phone (5.49″ diagonal, 60Hz) that easily fits into your hand and is quite usable in both folded and unfolded states, something unheard of at the time. It’s sadly limited to China only, and those who wanted one at the time had to import it. The Find N, however, was not geared toward productivity and multitasking, it just offered a way to watch content on a bigger screen, and the square-like aspect ratio wasn’t the best for most people.
It also had no water resistance, could only do 1080P on the front camera and still had only USB-C 2.0 speeds, and the display wasn’t all that bright, maxing out at 800 Nits. The software wasn’t optimised then and was not tailored to those outsides of China. Reviews have reported that the camera struggled in low light and the telephoto hardware was weak.
Oppo Find N2 Specifications
All that talk of the Find N aside, the successor Find N2 seems to bring some iterative but quality-of-life updates. The Find N2 (Code named PGU110) will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is based on TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process, so it definitely will see a significant bump in terms of both performance and power efficiency while maintaining good thermal performance thanks to a better overall SOC than the Snapdragon 888 which was based on Samsung’s 5nm node and wasn’t very well received.
The phone is rumoured to launch with a 120Hz 7.1″ diagonal 120Hz AMOLED panel with a 4520mAh Battery, a vegan leather finish, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and it will run Android 13 (ColorOS 13) out of the box.
Leaked screenshots (via Cookapk) reveal that there will be a 12GB RAM storage option with 256GB storage. It also suggests that the MariSilicon X NPU will be used on this phone, so AI noise reduction, 4K video at night, overall image processing, etc., will take massive leaps from the previous generation, all thanks to the in-house NPU.
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has also shared the specifications of the Find N2 Foldable phone on Weibo.

Oppo Find N2 Release Prediction
- Oppo Find N2 Foldable phone will likely be released in December 2022 alongside Reno 9 series in China.
This phone may launch very soon (December), but there is no word on an official release date. However, it might launch in China when the Reno 9 series is launched. The launch will be held after Qualcomm announces the 8 Gen 2, but the 8+ Gen 1 is not a bad chip, and while this phone will miss out on improvements made on the 8 Gen 2, it’s too late to switch SOCs now, and the existing chip is no slouch, outperforming Apple’s A15 in gaming.
There is no word about a global or Indian launch, but we hope they launch it in other markets outside their home country.
Oppo Find N2 Price Prediction
Oppo Find N was launched at CNY 7,699 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. We expect Oppo will offer a similar pricing tag for the next-generation Foldable phone. So, the Oppo Find N2 will likely be priced at CNY 7,699.
