When will Galaxy S20 FE 5G get One UI 5 (Android 13)?
A couple of weeks ago, the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra received the Android 13-based One UI 5 Update, and the fourth device, i.e., the Galaxy S20 FE, was not on the list. But now, as per the news, the device will receive the update soon. The South Korean tech giant unveiled the first “Fan Edition” follow-up at Samsung’s CES 2022 event on January 3, 2022. The first device launched in the FE series was the Galaxy S20 FE 4G. As most of the Samsung devices have started receiving or received the Android 13-based One UI 5 Update, it’s time for the S20 FE to be included in the list of Android 13.
The Galaxy S20 FE, when launched, was the most popular flagship among the S20 series and offered most of the S20 series features at comparatively lesser pricing. The phone got decently popular, and most Samsung fans have purchased the device too.
Galaxy S20 FE 5G Android 13 One UI 5 Update Status
Samsung has released the One UI 5-based Android 13 update for S20 FE 5G (SM-G781B). The update comes with firmware version G781BXXU4GVK6 and brings the November 2022 security patch. The update is available in several countries across Europe. Indian S20 FE 5G units have also received the update.
The 4G variant has received the update
For the Galaxy S20 FE 4G owners, the One UI 5 Update based on Android 13 has started rolling out in phases. The Russian and Indian version of Galaxy S20 FE is getting the One UI 5 update. The firmware version is G780FXXUAEVK3, and if you are looking for Android 13 (One UI 5), then make sure to check for the above version.
The new update is around 2.4 GB and is also arriving along with the latest November 2022 security patch update. It is important to note that there are two 4G variants of the Galaxy S20 FE, namely, Exynos and Snapdragon. And the rolling-out update is to the Exynos variant, and there is no news or rumours about the Snapdragon variant. We hope that the other variant may soon receive the new OS update.
To track the history of the OS updates in the Galaxy S20 FE device, Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE in mid-2022 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 software. The device received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021. The device received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in late 2021, and now the device is receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5 update in late 2022.
Features Available with One UI 5 on Galaxy S20 FE

- New animations and transition effects make switching between apps feel more natural.
- New app icons and illustrations and the icon symbols are now larger making it more visual and easier.
- You can create an emergency contact list in which you can add the contacts of some crucial people, friends, and family members in any emergency.
- Now, you can view the names of the apps in the smart Edge panel. To do it, turn ON ‘Show App Names,’ and the respective names will appear beneath the app.
The changelog also includes some of the Galaxy apps that will be updated to the latest version after the OS update. The apps are Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, Calculator, and Voice Recorder.
If you are waiting for One UI 5 based on the Android 13 update, the update will reach you earlier. Considering the stable version of the update is available in several European countries, the Indian version may soon arrive now.
